Recommended season: Summer
In Norway you will find two different climates: In the interior of the country, the climate is predominantly arctic with icy winters, heavy snowfalls and winds, but with much warmer summers. On the coast, the climate is more moderate due to the warming effects of the Gulf Stream.
In Svolvær, the midnight sun stays above the horizon from late May to mid-July and in winter, from early December to early January the sun does not appear above the horizon.
The best time to travel to Arctic Norwayis during summer, when the illuminated days offer milder temperatures and the sun shines for 24 hours giving you the chance to witness the incredible Midnight Sun.
Sailing the magnificent fjords in Northern Norway in a floating hotel
The Vulkana, berthed in the beautiful city of Tromsø, is an original fishing trawler from 1950, renovated and converted into a ‘floating spa’ which offers a spa area inside its hull as well as a Zen lounge, a sauna and an outdoor Jacuzzi. Navigating through these icy waters becomes a unique experience giving you the opportunity to enjoy the serenity that only can offer.
In addition to these delights offered on board, you can contemplate the Midnight sun or the magical Northern Lights in a unique way whilst enjoying the best local fish and seafood.
