Glamping in Botswana
NUBA is a pioneer in offering this experience increasingly demanded by families and couples. Glamping is to camp outdoors in remote places, feeling the wilderness in its purest form, but with all the details of a luxury hotel. A concept that was born in Africa, recalling the expedition camps from the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries which currently allows the most select travelers to enjoy the environment without renouncing the level of comfort to which they are accustomed.
Luxury camping: In glamping, details are what make the difference: a bathtub with legs overlooking a waterhole, colonial-style lodges, luxury tents with air conditioning, electric light, king size beds with canopy, Victorian furniture, butler service or cook with everything prepared after a day of safari … A tourism much less invasive and in open wilderness with difficult access.
NUBA recommends sleeping in lodges if you travel for the first time to Africa as the feeling of security is greater. If it is a second trip or the traveler wants to live a more intense experience, the luxury tents with canvas walls are ideal to listen to the sounds of animals at night and feel close to the wild environment. Or even mobile tents, where they will have the opportunity to follow animal migrations.
Recommended seasons: Summer and Autumn
Any time of the year is good to travel to Botswana. The best time will not only depend on the climate and the place to visit, but also on the interests, tastes and concerns of the traveler.
The rainy season in Botswana begins at the end of November and continues until March. It is more abundant in the north than in the south and all the landscape becomes greener. Water lilies in the Okavango Delta are at their peak of flowering. This is a birthing season and an excellent period for bird watching.
In April it no longer rains and temperatures are somewhat cooler. The abundance of flora and fauna is surprising. Many species of animals have bred and predators are very active. . It is the delta’s flooding period, an ideal time for romantic mokoro trips.
For safari lovers, the best time is the dry season, from May to October, as temperatures rise, drying up the landscape and favoring the observation of animals around the waterholes. In September, the large herds of elephants in Chobe National Parkare surprising.
