The best time to travel to Iceland is from May to August, which are the months with milder temperatures and more sun hours during the day, with a maximum of 20 hours of sun a day.
The ideal time for whale watching in the bay of Skjálfandi, where Husavik is located, is from May to September. Up to 23 species of whales can be found In the cold Icelandic waters.
