Recommended season: Spring and Summer

Madagascar has a tropical climate divided into two distinct seasons, the dry season and the wet season: from May to September is the austral winter, it can be cold depending on the area and rains are very sporadic except for the east coast of Madagascar. Temperatures range from 22°C to 28°C. From October to April is the austral summer, it is hot all over the island. From the end of November the rains start in the afternoon, although they are generally very brief. Currently the rainiest months are January and February. Temperatures range between 26°C and 34°C.

Seasonal Experiences

The best time to see lemurs and birds in their natural environment are the months of March and April, as well as from October to December. The traveler will be able to differentiate between different types of species, from the largest Indri lemurs to the elusive and nocturnal aye-aye, in Andasibe National Park.
